They usually experience physical sensations. So, if you are clairsentient, you are capable to experience and feel both inner and outer energy in a more intuitive way.
Such energy may include but is not limited to, others’ feelings (even when they are not around), spiritual perceptions, objects, as well as predictions of the future.
Basically, clairsentients are aware of a stream of energetic vibrations through their own bodies and emotions.

An empath is someone who can sense and feel the emotions and energies of other people, animals, and even objects.

1. YOU SENSE ENERGY IN A ROOM
Have you ever found yourself astonishing people by walking into a room immediately following a heated debate, argument, or fight and becoming aware of what had transpired without having been informed by anyone or actually witnessing anything?
This is called leftover energy and is one of the key signs that you’re clairsentient. It’s the reason why crowded areas can be so draining for clairsentients.
2. YOU HAVE DIFFICULTIES DEALING WITH OR BEING IN BIG CROWDS
Clairsentients experience energy more strongly than other people do. That’s why, for them, it can be quite draining if they engage with huge numbers of people for longer periods of time.
Imagine how exhausting it can be if you’re able to sense the emotions, feelings, and moods of the person standing next to you. Now, multiply that by a factor of ten, hundred, or thousand.
That’s what clairsentients can potentially feel when they are in a crowd. Public swimming pools, music concerts, and sports stadiums are some of the places that could often become no-go zones for clairsentients.

- Don’t be fearful that you will take on the emotion or the ailment.
- Express your feelings creatively.
- Journal.
- Meditate or listen to music.

- Use your gift to help others and/or channel your clairsentience into work you enjoy.
- Break from the energy of others the moment you’re done with your healing session, psychic reading, counseling session, coffee date, etc.
Be aware that every clairsentient will experience this gift in a different way and no one will feel what you are feeling. Nonetheless, there are many people who have similar experiences, so it might be a good idea to seek out other clairsentients either locally or in online forums.
WAYS TO STRENGTHEN YOUR CLAIRSENTIENT ABILITIES
You can develop and improve your clairsentience skills by accessing your divine guidance and by practicing a lot. Here are some exercises that I use to develop my clairsentient skills.
1. FOCUS ON YOUR ENVIRONMENT
As I described before, clairsentient people are super sensitive to their environment. If clutter and subtle alterations affect your thinking and output, focus on what’s around you before starting to practice your clairsentient skills.
So first, bring more positivity into your life and change your apartment into a place where you feel relaxed and comfortable.

Now you’ll have a nice clear space to comfortably meditate and practice psychic development exercises that will increase your clairsentience.
2. USE YOUR CLAIRSENTIENT ABILITIES TO READ ANOTHER PERSON
One of my favorite exercises to strengthen my clairsentience is to read another person. I use this 4-step approach:
- Ask a friend or family member to show you a picture of someone they know very well, but you’ve never met.
- Look at the picture and try to focus on the person’s eyes and try to tune into the energy of this person when the picture was taken. Was this person happy, relaxed? Or do you feel anger and stress? Note that if this is the first time you’re practicing clairsentience, you may just pick up basic negative or positive vibes.
- Ask yourself what kind of person this individual is. Would you trust this person?
- When you’re done, ask your friend for feedback. How correct were you? You can repeat this exercise as many times as you want.
3. PSYCHOMETRY! SENSE THE ENERGY FROM A PERSONAL OBJECT
Another piece of advice to increase your clairsentient skills is to practice psychometry. This means reading the energy of an object.
To practice psychometry, you have to hold objects that you know nothing about and tune into the feelings you get about them.
Think of something in an antique store, a wedding ring, or family jewelry. Make sure that the object is from someone you don’t know.
Close your eyes and (if possible) slowly run the object across the skin of your hands, your arms, and the inside of your wrist. Try to feel what kind of energy it’s giving off and try to sense the energy of its owner.
Then tell the owner of the object what information and feelings you are receiving. Ask them how correct you are.
In the beginning, you might get wrong answers too, but once again, practice and this will improve greatly.
Tip: jewelry works great because the more an item is worn by the owner, the more energy it contains. Besides, metal can hold energy forever!
4. BALANCE YOUR HEART CHAKRA TO IMPROVE CLAIRSENTIENCE
Clairsentience is associated with your fourth Chakra, also known as the Heart Chakra.
This Chakra can be seen as a kind of bridge between thought, emotions, and spirituality, and is connected to all of the following:
- Your capacity for empathy
- The intensity which you can care for another person
- Your emotional openness
- Self-knowledge
- Self-reflective capacities
- How peaceful you feel
Learning how to open the Heart Chakra is a beautiful experience and it will allow you to build your psychic abilities on a healthy foundation.

5. MAKE A CRYSTAL GRID

6. MEDITATE TO STRENGTHEN CLAIRSENTIENCE
Meditation allows you to connect with your higher self and become more receptive to intuitive messages. That’s why you have to start with meditation if you want to improve any psychic ability.
Nowadays, you can find a lot of guided meditations online. Try meditation with music, spoken meditations, and complete silent meditation, to figure out which style you prefer and try to squeeze a meditation moment into your daily routine.

I’m 53 years old and ever since I was a teenager I have been sensitive to spiritual energy. I always feel a sense of someone or thing that is in an area if a place is considered haunted, I feel it even if I don’t know it’s considered haunted and find out later it is, has happened several times when I travel. I can feel a presence and know if it’s good or bad. I have been able to get rid of the negative energy, I was brought up Catholic and have always believed we’re not alone.
I can predict how people will act or do something before it they do it. I know what people are thinking and say things right before they’re about to say it.
This article help me some, I am definitely sensitive but I am not an empath. This will help me take more control of my gift and embrace it.

So I’m not really sure if this goes along with this or more of an empath BUT something that stuck out to me a great deal was the part about feeling others physical pain. Since I was a little girl, I absolutely hated when someone talked about how the body worked, blood flowing, looking at surgery, or seeing or hearing about someone breaking a bone, etc. I literally feel like I can feel it in my body itself. Like if for example someone telling me about them getting surgery on their leg and what happened, my leg will literally start hurting and I feel so uncomfortable. its truly hard to put into words, I even tried to ask a psychology teacher about it before, and he looked at me like I was crazy! Is there anyone out there that understands this?
