3. Encyclopedia of 5,000 SPELLS – Judika Illes
The Encyclopedia of 5,000 spells is your ultimate guide to spellcasting. Another great thing about the spells in this book is that a lot of spells can be used individually or as a piece of a bigger spell. Like using a red candle for love and combining that with Talisman making. This makes it also a great source of inspiration for those who want to write their own spells. Aside from the spells, the book also describes many ways to cast your spells, how to make incense cones, botanical infusions, and various rituals.
Because of the broad and diverse content, you’ll find something for almost every situation. This makes it a must-have book for anybody’s library!- VIEW PRICE -

What is spell work?
After buying your spell book, it’s time to get started! But with what? What is spell work actually? Spell work is the general term for the inner workings or basic structures of any spell. Any time you are practicing magic, whether that is casting an enchantment or making a formulation of many spells, you are practicing spell work.
The core of spell work is focusing on energy. All things in us and around us carry energy. The people around us, the earth, the trees, and the stones on the ground all have it. Spell work means harnessing this power and using it to achieve a purpose.
When you look at a periodic table, there are many different elements that reverberate different vibrations. Everything in our world is made up of this table of elements. In regards to spellwork, energy operates the same way, but on a spiritual level.
When you think about spell work, it is not a quick fix to the various problems in your life. It merely recognizes a problem, feeling the energy within you and around you, and using that energy to do good. You might, for example, have financial woes that leave you feeling drained and defeated. Spell work can help you by taking that negative energy and working to focus it on a magical solution.
You can also use spells for the greater good. Many witches and spell practitioners agree that as a spellcaster, you should take action when you see a problem in the world. Whether that is in your local community or worldwide, you can use this method to channel positivity into the world around you. For example, if someone you know is struggling with a decision, you can cast a spell for peace and guidance.
Easy Beginners spells
Many spells work great for beginners. Much of the time, all you will need is a few supplies from your local grocery store (apart from a good beginner’s spell book), and you will be ready to get started.
For example, all you might need to complete a spell is a candle and some fresh herbs. There are spells for improving your financial state, attracting a lover, and keeping and protecting your job. Since these all aim to improve your life, it is pretty difficult to mess that up. That means this is a great place to start for a beginner!
Remember the law of three when casting spells. This means that whatever you put out into the universe will come back upon you threefold. If you are casting out positive energy and intentions, good things will come back to you. If your intent is to harm anyone, you will be seriously harmed in return. It is always a good idea to add “and harm no one” or “for the greater good of everyone involved” to the end of each spell to protect against this.
Easy Spells with Candles
Candle spells are a great option for your average beginner because they are easy to understand and execute. All you must do is think of the goal you want to achieve, envision that, and carve it into a candle.
Make sure to focus all your intention on this goal all the while. Afterward, light the candle and allow the fire to transform your energy into granting all of your wishes.
Easy Spells with the Moon
The role of the moon in your spellcasting routine is relatively simple. Three examples of moon phases are waxing, waning, and full.
The waxing moon works best for spells regarding growth and enhancement. The waning moon adds power to decreasing evil influences and banishing depression from one’s life. The full moon can add energy to any spell but is most effective in adding strength to spells already in motion.
Beginner Spells with Crystals
Crystals play many roles in the world of spellcasting. They can be used to manifest wealth, evoke healing, and attracting love. Amethyst, for example, is widely known to enhance the power of any spell. Include it in your spellwork as a way to positively impact its outcome.
You will need to understand the functions of each stone, so try purchasing one of our recommended books to get a firm understanding before trying spellcasting with crystals.
Ready to start or continue your spell casting journey?
Spell casting is much more than reciting a simple rhyme and blowing out a candle. It relies heavily on moon phases, candles, and crystals as tools in the craft. It is important to understand the background and history of each spell just as it is important to know the intent and energy you are putting into each spell.
A reputable book about spellcasting is a great way to get to know all the information you need to be a successful spellcaster. And remember, spell casting should be personal and fun, so enjoy your spell casting journey!
